about

This one's real near and dear to my heart. Hunter was my first little brother who passed away at Age 3 in 1992. I was 12. Though he lost his battle with cancer, he totally won life by living and loving more everyday than most people do in a lifetime! Hunter taught me to fight. He taught me to care, love, rise above, and never give up. Without him and our youngest brother, Powers, I truly have no clue where I'd be today. You guys made me who I am. Thanks, bros! You'll always be a part of me.

lyrics

Hunter was your name.
Hero was your game.
You showed me the way,
With the smile on your face,
Chasing tears in your eyes away.
But you don’t have to cry anymore.
There was something in your life,
Worth fighting for.
And you fought every last fight,
Like you just couldn’t lose.
I can still see your sweet face,
And it ain’t got the blues.

Now all I see when towers fall,
When my back is up against a wall,
When I’m drowning in life’s misery,
Are the brightest eyes I’ve ever known,
And because of you I know I’m not alone,
You’re here with me.

There are some things in this life,
That don’t go away.
Like the way you made me see,
Beyond yesterday.
And the smile on your face,
That I’ll never erase,
Is the reason I’m smiling today.

Through all of your pain,
You never complained.
But you wouldn’t stay,
Cause your smile gave you wings,
I don’t blame you for flying away.
And I know that you’re not very far,
Because I close my eyes at night,
And there you are,
Looking like you were always meant to,
Every day of my life, I see you,
Shining on just as bright as ever.

Cause there are some things in this life,
That don’t go away.
Like the way you made me see,
Beyond yesterday.
And that smile on your face,
I won’t ever erase,
Is the reason I’m smiling today. Yeah!

Life cheated! But you beat it,
And won anyway,
When you lived more love,
In those wonder years,
Than the world alive today.
Hey, Hunter - Me?
Yeah! You, little brother,
Your heart still shines,
Brighter than any other,
And if you were here,
I know what you’d say...

“I may not be the biggest,
Or the brightest in the sky,
Mistaken for a falling star,
When I go flying by.
But there’s one thing,
I’m sure of,
Wherever I go...
I brighten the world,
Wherever I glow.
Because I’m somebody,
To somebody somewhere.
Something special,
I’m somebody’s find.
And ain’t it something,
That wherever I go,
I brighten the world,
Wherever I shine.

So let yourself,
Shine, shine, shine!
Why not brighten,
Somebody’s day?
You don’t have to be a star,
To shine your light far...
You can make the
World brighter
In your own
little way.” ***

Some things in this life,
Just don't go away.
Like the way you made me see,
Beyond yesterday.
And the smile on your face,
I could never erase,
Is the reason I'm smiling today.

Cause there are some things in this life,
That don't go away.
Like the way you made me see,
Beyond yesterday.
And the smile on your face,
I won't ever erase,
Is the reason I'm smiling today.

Little brother in my life,
I won't go away.
Cause you're the reason I can see,
Beyond yesterday.
And the smile on your face,
That I'll never erase,
Is the reason I'm smiling...
You're the reason I'm smiling today.
