about

In all things, communication is key. I wrote this song to all the women (and people) I've ever fallen short of communicating with...even those who wouldn't communicate back. The best relationships I have (or have ever had) are honest and open. We don't have to hide our feelings from each other...and when we don't, the answers come and everything is just so much better. No matter what.

lyrics

School bell sent you home.
You left all alone.
Sometimes disappearing’s,
All that can save you.
You pause and rewind.
They were so unkind.
And knowing you’ll be fine,
Don’t make it much better.

When the world ain’t on your side,
You just can’t hide...but you can,
Always, can always show them,
That you care.
Don’t you want to let them know,
They hurt you so...
Yeah, it’s just a little funny how,
We all ignore what we share.

Baby, did you know they could,
See that look in your eyes?
And they hated themselves,
For going there.
So you don’t have to go,
And try to keep your hurt in disguise,
Because the whole world seems to know,
That it’s easier to hurt,
When someone’s aware.

Date Night...should’ve been.
Here we go again.
You tried standing strong,
Now you’re crying, “Timber!”
I wish you could’ve known,
You didn’t fall alone.
And I hope somewhere deep,
Inside you remember...

How I tried to read your mind,
But it was dark between those lines.
So we walked away from Eden,
All because we couldn’t share.
But I want to let you know,
I loved you so,
And I’m just so sorry,
If it seemed like I didn’t care.

Little did you know I could,
See that look in your eyes.
And I hated myself,
For putting it there.
So you didn’t have to go,
And try to keep your hurt in disguise,
Because the whole world seems to know,
That it’s easier to hurt,
When someone’s aware...

What you’re feeling,
Please tell me what you’re feeling, girl.
We could’ve changed it all,
Could’ve shown the world...
That life is just too short,
To run and hide,
From the tears that keep on,
Building up inside,
Of our heart...that tear us apart.

Go!

When the world ain’t on your side,
You just can’t hide...
But you can always, you can always,
Show them that you care.
(You care...you care!)
You can always let them know,
They hurt you so.
Will we ever open up our little hearts,
And learn how to share?

Baby, did you know they could,
See that look in your eyes?
And they hated themselves,
For going there.
So you don’t have to go,
And try to keep your hurt in disguise,
Because the whole world seems to know,
That it’s easier to hurt...
I guess the whole world needs to know...
That it’s easier to hurt,
When someone’s aware.

Yeah!
When someone's aware...
Someone is aware.
